_ High shrubs or bushes that obscure windows?
_ Windows are left open at night or when no one is home?
_ Lights are left on all night and day, when no one is home?
_ Torn or missing storm windows or screens?
_ Garage and outbuildings go unlocked?
_ Residence number is not visible from the street at night?
_ There are no smoke or carbon monoxide detectors in home?
_ No family escape plan in case of fire?
_ Home contains valuables such as firearms and important
papers?
_ House keys and car keys are on the same key ring?
_ The neighborhood does not have a watch group?
YOUR DOORS:
_ Are there peepholes in the entrance door?
_ Are the entrance doors to your home hollow core?
_ Are there dead bolts on entrance doors?
_ Have the locks been changed since you moved in?
_ Are locks within 40 inches of door glass that can be opened
from the inside?
YOUR WINDOWS:
_ Are there locks on the home's windows?
_ Are windows left open for ventilation?
_ Are there locks on the home's basement windows?
_ Do curtains, drapes, or blinds not fully cover your windows?
DURING YOUR VACATIONS:
_ Are deliveries stopped?
_ Are the neighbors notified?
_ Are light timers set in the house?
_ Is the lawn cut or sidewalk shoveled?
_ Is mail stopped?
ADDITIONAL BURGLAR MAGNETS :
_ Are sizable amounts of cash ever in the home?
_ Are valuables ever displayed to strangers?
_ Are vacation plans discussed in public places?
